Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform bringing the capital markets onchain and powering the majority of decentralized finance (DeFi). The Chainlink stack provides the essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to power advanced blockchain use cases for institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Events to lead our global events function and deliver world-class experiences that strengthen the Chainlink brand, deepen customer relationships, and accelerate business growth. You will lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for executing our flagship conference, SmartCon, alongside our presence at major industry events and executive customer engagements. This is a strategic leadership role that combines event vision, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver exceptional experiences across the digital assets, financial services and institutional investment industries.
Your impact will include
- Leading, developing, and mentoring a global team of event professionals, creating a high-performing culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
- Defining and executing Chainlink's global event strategy, ensuring every event supports company objectives, brand positioning, and commercial priorities.
- Owning the planning and delivery of SmartCon, alongside Chainlink's presence at major industry conferences including Sibos, Digital Asset Week, Money 20/20, Token2049, Consensus, Singapore Fintech Festival, and other strategic events.
- Delivering exceptional executive experiences through customer events, product launches, networking receptions, thought leadership forums, and strategic announcements.
- Partnering closely with Marketing, Sales, Product, Executive Leadership, Finance, Legal, and Procurement to ensure seamless planning and execution across all events.
- Managing annual event budgets, vendor relationships, and commercial negotiations to maximize impact while maintaining financial discipline.
- Establishing scalable event planning processes, governance, and operational standards that enable consistent, high-quality execution globally.
- Measuring event success through meaningful KPIs, attendee engagement, pipeline influence, and executive feedback, using insights to continuously improve future events.
- Ensuring all events meet the highest standards of brand quality, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements include
- 8+ years of experience leading large-scale events, with at least 3 years managing and developing high-performing event teams.
- Proven experience delivering flagship conferences, executive events, product launches, and sponsored industry events in fast-paced technology, fintech, financial services, or startup environments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic event programs that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Experience managing significant event budgets, commercial negotiations, and external agency and vendor relationships.
- Strong people leadership skills with a track record of coaching, developing, and scaling successful teams.
- Exceptional program and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with senior executives and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Strong commercial mindset with experience measuring event performance, ROI, and business impact.
- Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience creating premium event experiences for executive audiences, enterprise customers, or financial institutions is highly desirable.
Preferred requirements include
- Experience in fintech, venture capital, or startup environments.
- Experience with hybrid/virtual events and understanding of event tech tools.
- Experience with event marketing metrics and measurement tools and methodologies.
