Freelance Social Media Manager + Content Creator

JA local Waco business is looking for a creative and reliable Freelance Social Media Manager + Content Creator to work with us on a project-based, independent contractor basis.

Pay: $18/hour

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week on average

Position: Freelance / Independent Contractor / Project-Based

Location: Waco, Texas

Applicants must be local to Waco or the surrounding area. This is not a remote position.

We are looking for someone who is highly confident creating content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook and has a strong eye for photography, graphic design, and short-form video.

Responsibilities

• Create original content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook
• Attend local businesses, events, and scheduled content shoots in the Waco area
• Photograph products, people, businesses, events, and behind-the-scenes content
• Shoot and edit Reels and TikToks
• Create custom-designed graphics, carousels, Stories, and social posts
• Write captions and calls to action that fit each brand
• Develop creative concepts and bring new content ideas to the table
• Stay current on social trends, audio, platform changes, and content styles
• Maintain a polished and consistent brand look
• Work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines

What We’re Looking For

We need someone who genuinely understands social media, especially TikTok and Instagram, and knows how to create content specifically for each platform rather than simply posting the same content everywhere.

Photography skills are a must. You should be comfortable taking quality photos and have a good understanding of composition, lighting, posing, and editing.

Strong graphic design skills are also required. We do not want AI-generated graphics. We want original, custom-designed graphics with strong typography, layout, photography, and branding.

Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Lightroom, Photoshop, CapCut, or similar creative programs is helpful.

Portfolio Required

A portfolio of your own work is required to be considered.

Please include examples of custom graphics you have personally designed, photography you have shot and edited, Reels or TikToks you have created, and social media accounts you have managed.

Please only submit work that you personally created or were directly responsible for.

Position Details

This is a freelance independent contractor position averaging approximately 10 hours per week at $18 per hour. Hours may vary depending on projects and content needs.

The person selected must be available for in-person content creation throughout the Waco area, including photography, video, events, and scheduled shoots.

We are looking for someone who can take direction while also bringing ideas of their own. You should be dependable, organized, creative, comfortable working independently, and confident taking a project from concept to finished content.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 – 10.0 per week
