KWTX-TV News Channel 10, the CBS affiliate in Central Texas, is looking for a dynamic, high-energy, Director of Sales to lead our top-tier sales team. The ideal candidate should be success-driven, motivated, and highly knowledgeable in tailoring solutions for our clients. KWTX seeks a focused and disciplined leader to oversee the revenue initiatives and develop, inspire, and coach a sales team in a dynamic media environment. The Director of Sales will lead the organization, optimize inventory, set and achieve revenue goals, and create budgets. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, a competitive spirit, and a passion for developing solutions for our customers using a broad set of media assets. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of growing revenue for both broadcast and digital products across multiple platforms. They should also have experience establishing guiding principles for local, national, and digital sales initiatives while inspiring the team to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, and guide a team of highly skilled sales representatives
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement client-centric advertising strategies across diverse media platforms
  • Demonstrate proficiency in achieving both digital and broadcast sales targets, fostering strong client relationships, and communicating effectively
  • Execute well-conceived sales plans with meticulous attention to detail
  • Exhibit the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, maintain exceptional organizational skills, and effectively prioritize tasks
  • Drive business development initiatives
  • Oversee inventory management, revenue forecasting, sales, and expense budgeting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • At least five years of experience in media sales leadership
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience in guiding, directing, and motivating team members, including setting performance standards and closely monitoring progress
  • The ability to establish long-term objectives and outline the strategies and actions necessary to achieve them
  • The skill to identify and address the developmental needs of others, providing coaching, mentoring, or other support to enhance their knowledge or skills
  • Proficiency in using computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment
  • Familiarity with Wide Orbit, Wide Orbit Media Sales, and Matrix
