Palm Harbor Homes in Waco is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Sales Manager Trainee / Retail Sales Consultant.

This is not a traditional management position where you walk in and immediately sit behind a desk. We believe our future leaders should first understand the business from the ground up.

The person selected for this opportunity will begin by learning our operation as a Retail Sales Consultant, mastering our sales process, marketing systems, customer experience, and day-to-day operations. The long-term objective is to develop the right individual into a future sales leadership role.

Sales experience is not required. A great attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn are.

Compensation

This is a performance-driven sales opportunity.

• $15,000 annual base salary plus commission
• Current sales consultants typically earn approximately $150,000–$225,000 annually
• Uncapped earning potential based on individual performance
• Bonus opportunities
• Benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and additional employee benefits

What You’ll Learn and Do

You will be trained to

• Generate business through Facebook, Marketplace, social media, digital platforms, and other marketing channels
• Build and manage your own customer pipeline
• Communicate with customers from initial contact through closing
• Conduct professional home presentations and consultations
• Follow up consistently with prospects and existing customers
• Negotiate and close sales
• Understand financing, customer qualification, and the manufactured housing sales process
• Learn Palm Harbor’s systems, procedures, and expectations
• Develop the leadership skills necessary to eventually help coach and lead a sales team

You do not need previous manufactured-home sales experience.

Candidates coming from automotive sales, real estate, furniture sales, retail management, hospitality, customer service, or completely different industries are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and be coached
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
• Comfortable learning digital and social-media marketing
• Dependable and able to maintain a demanding schedule
• Employment is subject to applicable pre-employment screening and background requirements

Schedule

Our training program is intentionally demanding because we want new team members to learn the business quickly.

During training

Monday–Saturday

7:00 AM–6:00 PM

After becoming a fully trained Retail Sales Consultant:

Monday–Saturday

8:00 AM–7:00 PM

This position is best suited for someone who understands that building a high-income sales career requires a serious commitment.
