Job Description The Associate Manager, Campus Marketing & Communications at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for serving as the liaison between the CMO’s office and the campus provost, ensuring that campus-specific marketing, public relations, and promotional efforts align with institutional goals. This role is responsible for content creation, public relations, social media, multimedia production, event promotion, and media training while collaborating with TSTC’s centralized marketing team, including graphic designers, content writers, and multimedia specialists. Additionally will prepare and train the campus provost and other key staff for media interviews, public relations opportunities, and crisis communications. This role will take the lead in localized marketing efforts, ensuring that campus stories, events, and initiatives receive the attention they deserve. Associate Manager, Campus Marketing & Communications must consistently demonstrate the TSTC Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity as an essential component of the role and a standard of individual performance. Reports to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)’s office and works closely with the campus provost, faculty, students, and the central marketing team. The anticipated mid-range salary for this position would be $63k plus full state benefits. Salary will be commensurate upon background and experience. Team Leadership Supervise and coach Marketing Specialists, assign workload, and support the development of professional skills and competencies. Campaign Strategy Translate institutional priorities into actionable marketing strategies and integrated campaigns that support student recruitment and engagement. Cross-Functional Collaboration Coordinate with creative, digital, and media teams to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and meet brand standards. Budget Oversight Manage campaign budgets, vendor contracts, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility and impact. Campus Partnership Serve as the primary contact for campus leadership, ensuring marketing strategies are aligned with institutional objectives. Performance Measurement Provide reporting and insights on campaign outcomes, including return on investment and recommendations for improvement. Education & Experience Required Qualifications Five to seven years of progressively responsible marketing experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Demonstrated leadership in campaign strategy, budget management, and staff development. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field. Experience leading complex, multi-channel campaigns in higher education or comparable settings. Skills & Abilities Strong storytelling and writing skills for PR articles, digital content, and marketing materials. Social media expertise, including content creation, engagement strategies, and analytics. Basic photography and videography skills, with the ability to work with professional media teams when needed. Project and time management skills to handle multiple marketing initiatives efficiently. Collaboration and communication skills to serve as a liaison between the campus and the CMO’s office. Public speaking and media training experience to coach campus leaders in interview readiness. Understanding of crisis communication strategies and best practices for handling media relations in sensitive situations.
