Role Description The Chief Academic Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Troy, TX, responsible for overseeing the district’s academic programs and instructional initiatives. This role leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula across grade levels to ensure alignment with state standards and district goals. The Chief Academic Officer collaborates with campus and district leaders to strengthen teaching practices, monitor student performance data, and guide interventions that support equitable outcomes.
Daily responsibilities include supervising academic departments, facilitating professional learning for educators, and driving strategic planning for instructional improvement. The role also involves working closely with stakeholders, including families and community partners, to communicate academic priorities and support a shared vision for student achievement.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Curriculum Development and Education, including standards alignment and assessment practices.
- Strong Educational Leadership skills with experience supervising instructional staff and leading academic initiatives.
- Ability to conduct and apply Research to drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Strategic Planning for district-wide academic programs and long-term instructional goals.
- Advanced degree in education or a related field; appropriate state certifications and administrative credentials preferred.
- Proven experience in a school or district leadership role, ideally in K–12 public education.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and change-management skills, with a commitment to equity and inclusive practices.
- Capacity to build strong relationships with educators, families, and community partners and to foster a positive, results-oriented culture.
