WACOAN—Waco's Magazine has been publishing since January 2000, telling the stories of people whose personalities, achievements, and experiences shape Waco's unique character. As a locally owned publication, we strive to serve as the pulse of the city, bringing untold stories that define our community.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Intern role located in the Waco area. The Intern will assist with day-to-day tasks, including writing, editing, and researching content for the magazine. In addition to editorial support, this role will contribute to public relations efforts, including community outreach, event promotion, and assisting with social media communications. The Intern will also support social media and digital initiatives by helping create engaging content, scheduling posts, tracking performance, and maintaining the magazine’s online presence. There will be opportunities to contribute to story development, digital publishing, and overall brand storytelling across platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills
• Ability to conduct research and gather information
• Interest in storytelling, journalism, and media relations
• Basic knowledge of magazine publishing and digital media processes
• Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
