JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction of the City Manager, the Director of Public Works oversees, manages, administers and directs the operations of the Public Works Department. Plans, develops and implements maintenance, improvement, upgrade, and installation of public streets, drainage, water and sewer infrastructure, and internal services including City building maintenance, and vehicle and equipment maintenance operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a closely related field from an accredited university is required.
- A minimum of eight (8) years experience in public works management/construction management, with three (3) years of senior supervisory experience is required;
ORan equivalent combination of education and experience to effectively manage the Public Works department.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Texas drivers license.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Professional Engineer License is highly preferred. If licensed and it is not from the State of Texas, the selected candidate must obtain Texas Registered Professional Engineer license within 6 months from the date of employment.
- TCEQ certification in water/wastewater operations is preferred
