Job Summary of Food Safety Supervisor
This position plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of the restaurant by maintaining a positive customer experience, food quality, and safety standards. You will support the daily management of crew members and assist in maintaining an organized and efficient workspace, all while delivering exceptional service and driving team performance. A proactive attitude, strong communication, and leadership skills are essential for success in this role.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Food Safety Supervisor:
- Act as a role model by preparing and serving food to the company's standards of excellence, inspiring others to do the same.
- Monitor the compliance with food safety protocols, like ensuring proper hand washing, temperature control, and correct management of shelf life.
- Assist in tackling customer concerns to uphold a smooth and pleasant dining experience.
- Supervise the crew's performance, assist in scheduling tasks, managing break times, and overseeing the smooth transition of shifts.
- Assist and support team members by giving feedback and training on food handling and client service skills.
- Verify that all tools are kept in optimal condition and notify authorities promptly of any defects.
- Perform administrative responsibilities, including cash management, banking tasks, and stock level upkeep.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve desired outcomes for restaurant targets including sales objectives, food quality benchmarks, and cleanliness criteria.
Qualifications and Experience of Food Safety Supervisor:
- Candidates are expected to hold a high school diploma or its similar equivalent.
- Experience in a past restaurant or customer service job is preferred.
- Acquaintance with food safety regulations and guidelines for accurate cash handling.
- Exceptional communication skills with the talent to motivate and lead a team.
- Operating smoothly in fast-paced work atmospheres with professionalism.
- Proficiency in enduring prolonged periods of standing and managing the physical demands of the position.
- Skills in scheduling, managing employees, or carrying out office duties are advantageous.
