Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 6+ years of prior experience in Technical Publications, Technical Writing or Configuration Management “CM” and Data Management and/or related engineering discipline experience
  • Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • Prior management experience, i.e. forecasting, performance reviews, interviews, hiring and firing, etc.
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM software

  • Military or DoD experience

Day to Day: An employer in the Waco, TX market is looking for a Manager of Technical Publications. This is a manager over a team of 10 Configuration Managers and Data Managers. This person will be responsible for the daily activities of a team of configuration and data management specialists. Successful candidate will act as the technical interface to the customer for all configuration and data management activities across the site. Contributing to the achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.

  • Manages experienced professionals and represents the Configuration/Data management function for the site.
  • Manages cost, quality and schedule for all programs within span of control.
  • Trains and mentors team members.
  • Communicates within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts.
  • Develops or champions new concepts or technologies.
  • Manages the implementation of functional strategies and recommends operational plans that directly impact the short to mid-term function or business area results.
  • Provide direction, guidance and mentoring to direct reports on requirements and job responsibilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of the types of configuration control and data management skillsets.
  • Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight.
  • Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with staff workload forecasting.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office programs).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Developing, monitoring, analyzing and implementing change based on team operational metrics.
  • Support of business development to include estimating as well as writing of subcontractor specs and statements of work, RFI/RFP responses and proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
