We are seeking a self-driven Property Manager for an affordable community in Waco, TX with 168 units.
Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee property operations, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and deliver exceptional service to residents. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will drive the success of our properties, fostering vibrant communities and maintaining high standards of property maintenance, leasing, and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of LIHTC properties, including leasing, rent collections, and maintenance coordination
- Ensure compliance with LIHTC regulations, Fair Housing laws, Section 8 guidelines, and other applicable legal requirements
- Oversee property leasing processes, including marketing units, conducting tours, and negotiating lease agreements
- Maintain accurate data entry in property management systems such as Yardi; handle filing and record keeping
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure proper maintenance and facilities management; coordinate repairs as needed
- Handle legal administrative tasks related to contracts, lease enforcement, conflict management, and legal notices
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing resident inquiries promptly via phone or in person; uphold professional office etiquette
- Collaborate with leasing agents, maintenance staff, and legal teams to resolve issues efficiently and uphold community standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management with a focus on LIHTC or affordable housing programs
- Strong knowledge of LIHTC regulations, Section 8 housing programs, Fair Housing laws, landlord-tenant law, and related legal frameworks
- Strong familiarity with property management software Yardi
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with effective conflict management and negotiation abilities
- Prior experience in real estate administrative tasks including data entry, filing, contracts management, and office procedures
- Ability to handle facilities management responsibilities including property maintenance oversight and vendor coordination
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Professional demeanor with good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for resident relations and team collaboration
